Public Health Specialist
I am a Field Epidemiologist and Senior Statistician with progressive experience leading different national programs including population and household survey statistics systems, public health systems strengthening. I manage large datasets from collection to reporting to support better decision-making. I have worked across national, provincial, district, and regional, and cross boarder structures, including roles with Africa CDC, the Mozambique Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) within the Instituto Nacional de Saúde (INS), and government institutions such as the National and Provincial Department of Health, Statistics South Africa (Stats SA), National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) and the National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) and Jhpiego. Through my studies and experience, I am able to analyse, synthesise, summarise and present information clearly and critically. Additional experience includes cross-border collaboration, stakeholder engagement, leading and capacitating multi-disciplinary teams. I am familiar with national health information systems such as DHIS2, IDSR, NMCSS, Mortality surveillance system, SASQAF. I have strong skills in data management, statistical analysis, report writing and dissemination, using tools including STATA, SAS, R, REDCap, Epi Info, ArcGIS. I work carefully and responsibly, with attention to detail in my work. I am motivated to contribute to Mozambique’s public health system as my paternal homeland and marital home.
