I am a Senior Backend Engineer with over 30 years of experience building high-availability software for telecommunications and cloud-based SaaS platforms. My background spans over three decades of developing production systems in C, C++, Java, and Linux environments, with my most recent work focused on Go backend services. My work has focused on designing and integrating backend services that communicate reliably across APIs, messaging systems, databases, and telecommunications platforms. Throughout my career, I have worked on live production systems where availability and reliability are non-negotiable. My experience includes VoIP platforms, carrier-grade subscriber systems, multi-tenant SaaS applications, and customer communications platforms. I enjoy investigating complex production issues, tracing failures across system boundaries, and developing practical solutions that improve long-term reliability. More recently, I have integrated speech recognition, language translation, and LLM services into production communications platforms, evaluating open-source AI technologies and incorporating them into backend workflows where they deliver practical value. I prioritize reliability, maintainability, and clarity over cleverness. My approach is pragmatic: solve the problem correctly first, then refine and improve incrementally. I am currently open to permanent, remote, or contract backend engineering roles where I can contribute to Go services, distributed backend systems, communications platforms, and integration-heavy architectures.
