Tomás Ferreira

I’m a Software Engineer with experience developing and maintaining full-stack web applications, with a particular focus on backend development. I currently work with technologies including TypeScript, React/Next.js, REST and GraphQL APIs, Payload CMS and Git, and I have additional experience with Python, JavaScript and SQL. I have been working in software development since 2020, including professional development experience since 2024. My background has given me experience working both independently and as part of a team, while also requiring me to learn new technologies and solve complex technical problems quickly. One achievement I’m particularly proud of is contributing to the development and maintenance of production web applications, including implementing REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication and authorization flows such as OAuth, and integrations with external services. I’ve also worked extensively with Payload CMS, including content modelling, custom collections, permissions, migrations and live previews. Another important achievement was my research work in machine learning, where I helped develop and evaluate an approach for automatically correcting label errors in supervised learning datasets using Genetic Programming. This involved working with both synthetic and real-world datasets and strengthened my ability to investigate complex problems and develop practical technical solutions. For my next role, I’m looking for a remote Software Engineer or Full-Stack Engineer position, ideally with a strong backend focus. I’d like to work with a collaborative engineering team where I can contribute to meaningful products, continue developing my technical skills, and take on challenging problems.
