Full stack developer with 8 years of experience, mostly TypeScript and Python. React and Next.js on the frontend, Node and Python behind it, PostgreSQL underneath. Most recently I was Senior Full Stack Engineer at King's Ransom, where I led breaking a legacy monolith into independently deployable services and designed the versioned APIs so teams could ship without blocking each other. I also built a production AI document retrieval system there after spotting the problem myself: engineers were losing hours every week searching thousands of documents by hand. Python ingestion pipeline, embeddings into Pinecone through LangChain, GPT-4 answering with citations back to source, and a dashboard tracking cost and answer quality. A twenty-minute manual search became about five seconds, and building the measurement before tuning it is what made it cheap enough to leave running. Earlier work includes rebuilding a React dashboard that people had quietly stopped using because it had got slow, introducing Docker across a team of 40+ engineers, and a lot of third-party integration work with payment gateways, telematics and marketing platforms. What I'm looking for is a long-term remote role where I own an area rather than work through tickets. I'm most useful on backend architecture, API and integration work, and taking LLM features from prototype to something reliable and affordable enough to keep in production.
