Sherilyn Lee Freda

My name is Sherilyn Lee Freda, a first-generation American, native Chinese Linguist, and career intelligence professional. I am looking to make a thoughtful transition into the civilian sector after first-hand experience with the recent government downsizing. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in roles that required me to gather facts, analyze complex information, document findings clearly, and make sound decisions in high-pressure environments. My background includes intelligence analysis, investigative research, threat monitoring, and law enforcement experience, along with a BS in Legal Studies, graduating Magna cum Laude. These experiences have shaped the way I approach problems: carefully, analytically, and with a strong respect for process, accuracy, and people. In my government contracting career, I analyzed complex foreign-language and technical information, identify meaningful patterns, and turned Big Data into clear, useful findings for decision-makers. Earlier in my career, I served as a U.S. Coast Guard officer, where I led operations in law enforcement, human smuggling and narcotics interdiction, incident response, and investigative documentation. I also supported the Department of Homeland Security in an intelligence role, where I monitored emerging threats and helped provide timely reporting and situational awareness to senior leaders and interagency partners. What has stayed consistent across these roles is my interest in understanding behavior, connecting details that others may overlook, and producing work that is both accurate and useful. I have always been drawn to analytical work that sits at the intersection of investigation, analysis, and law. That is what makes this transition feel less like a departure and more like a natural progression into my own professional identity. At this moment, I am also a near-completion doctoral candidate for a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology, which has deepened my interest in behavioral analysis
