Shannon Robetson

It is my desire to obtain a relevant position in a social services field that will allow me to continue to utilize my skills, education and experience and to gain more of each as to assist in growing in the profession and field. I have had the honor of working with the dual diagnosis population (SUD, Mental Health) for 7 plus years now as a counselor, a case manager, a supervisor and as a program director of a triple diagnosis (SUD, Mental Health and HIV) residential treatment facility. I am well versed and adept at providing trauma informed care with a focus on harm reduction which is a passion of mine. I work on a volunteer basis with a team of likeminded harm reduction proponents to provide outreach to the street population providing Narcan, Fentanyl testing strips, making connections and providing information if requested while always meeting the person where they are at and providing what they tell me they need rather than giving what I may think they need. I also have experience working with trauma survivors as a volunteer sexual assault crisis support person and have held many hands during the often-excruciating processes that come with reporting a sexual assault.
