For over 25 years, I’ve been designing experiences that connect people with brands—working with everyone from ambitious start‑ups to Fortune 500 companies. Today, as a Staff Product Designer at WillowTree (part of TELUS Digital), I focus on creating intuitive, user-centered solutions for web and mobile applications. My love for design started in the 1980s, inspired by Subway Art and the PBS documentary Style Wars. Long before the digital world, I was hand‑painting ceramics for brands like Harrods and Mark Wilkinson Furniture, and even creating bespoke swimming pool murals, including one commissioned by Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. Everything changed the day I first used an Apple Mac. Evenings spent designing cassette sleeves and posters soon led to my work being published in GCI and Computer Arts, and eventually opened the door to a national media production role where I explored the growing possibilities of online design. I went on to co‑found Twist Systems—a boutique agency featured in The Web Designer’s Idea Book—building brands and websites for public and private clients. Later, my career shifted to remote work with Maark in Boston, and I seamlessly continued with the team through acquisitions by WillowTree and TELUS Digital. Across each chapter, whether designing for TELUS Digital, Girl Scouts USA, Synchrony, IBM, Marriott International, Hertz, Manulife, or John Hancock Investments, my focus has always been the same—combining creativity, storytelling, and strategy to make experiences that truly resonate.
