Paul J. Stevens

I am a .NET developer with over twenty years of design, development, and deployment of applications using a full Microsoft stack. I have architected and led the development of mission-critical systems in industries that included finance, healthcare, education, and government. My core strengths include C#.NET, MVC, Entity Framework, SQL Server, Azure cloud services, and modern DevOps practices. I am equally comfortable contributing as a team member or leading cross-functional teams, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals. In my current role at St. Petersburg College, I led the move of all databases and servers to the cloud, in addition to migrations from PeopleSoft to both D2L and Canvas. I also wrote and/or contributed a number of API microservices used in all of our apps to retrieve information from 3rd party apps such PeopleSoft, D2L, Canvas, CurricuNET, Pathify, Presence, and Simple Syllabus. My personal commitment is to clean, maintainable code, agile methodologies, and meaningful documentation. My personal philosophy is “If there’s a better way to do something, we need to do it.” And that’s in the midst of continuing technological change.
