Between 2008 and 2013, I worked on short-term, content development projects offered by WS (Chennai), Maxelor, M3, IBM Kolkata, Vehere Interactive Pvt, Ltd., and many other medium and small businesses, but the work samples are either print publications or online publications hosted on respective client sites. The write-ups that I created in this period included user documentation, technology white papers and case studies, web content, training modules, research reports, and marketing materials. These types of content are fully owned and copyrighted by the respective clients. Year 2020 was chaotic for me, and probably the worst year in terms of finances, as most of my clients either discontinued the writing contract or stopped paying after some months around mid-year when Covid-19 reached its peak around the globe. So, I was forced to randomly send pitches to new global clients, based on available project openings. I even tried to write for magazines, which I had stopped several years ago. Here are some sample write-ups I sent to new clients as “samples” or “pitches,” hoping for a new break. The significant deviation from my usual pitching practice was selecting clients from a very wide variety of sectors – something I had never done before.
