Paddy Rwabambari CMIOSH, MSc

I am a Chartered Health and Safety Professional currently employed by McDermott International as Project HSE Manager on the Tilenga EPSCC Project in Uganda, and I bring over 16 years of credible, hands-on HSE experience, including significant offshore and onshore oil and gas exposure, within complex, high-risk operational environments. Throughout my career, I have successfully established, implemented, and managed HSE Management Systems (HSEMS) in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, supporting both EPC and PMC project delivery models. I have extensive experience in offshore HSE operations, including SIMOPS, commissioning, contractor management, PTW systems, audits, inspections, and compliance assurance, ensuring alignment with client, regulatory, and international standards. My professional background spans Civil and Construction (high-rise projects), FMCG, and Oil and Gas projects across FEED, EPCC, upstream, downstream, offshore and onshore operations, including pipeline construction, LNG, and Solar PV projects, with practical experience across Africa and the Middle East. This exposure has strengthened my capability to operate effectively in multicultural offshore environments, supporting safe execution under demanding operational schedules and rotational work arrangements. Academically, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, fulfilling the academic requirement for this role. Additionally, I possess a NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Level 6), a NEBOSH International Diploma in Environmental Management (Level 6), NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Safety. I am also currently pursuing an MSc in Health, Safety, Environment, and Management (HSEM) at Victoria University to further enhancing my leadership and governance capabilities.
