I have spent more than 20 years working at the intersection of safety, environmental response, emergency management, business continuity, and operations. My career has taken me from data center, business continuity, corporate incident response, and nationwide disaster response to environmental services, high-hazard field operations, executive leadership, and workforce training. I am a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT) with an M.A. in Emergency Management. I have led operational teams and programs, developed emergency response and business continuity systems, managed complex field and environmental operations, built training programs, and helped organizations translate regulatory requirements and risk into practical systems that people can actually use. I work in environments where the consequences of getting it wrong are significant—hazardous materials, confined spaces, emergency response, environmental incidents, industrial operations, construction and infrastructure, and disaster response. Leadership has to understand the regulatory requirement, the operational reality, and the people who ultimately have to execute the plan. I develop and deliver training in occupational safety, hazardous materials, emergency response and preparedness, and I particularly enjoy turning complex technical or regulatory subjects into practical instruction. My experience designing exercises and training programs goes back to my corporate emergency-management work and continues today through practitioner-led safety and response training. I have also had the opportunity to lead in executive and operational management, business development, budgeting, personnel leadership, project management, client relationships, and organizational improvement. That broader business experience shapes how I approach safety and risk: strong HSE programs should protect people and the environment while helping an organization operate effectively.
