Michael Bell

Senior WordPress and PHP developer with 10+ years of experience building, maintaining, migrating, and troubleshooting complex WordPress websites and web applications. My work includes custom theme and plugin development, Gutenberg, ACF, WooCommerce, WordPress multisite, REST APIs, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML, CSS/Sass, and responsive front-end development. I have worked on large-scale CMS migrations, third-party integrations, accessibility and WCAG compliance, performance optimization, production troubleshooting, and ongoing application support. My experience also includes managed hosting environments such as WP Engine and Pantheon, along with Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CI/CD workflows, and working within established development and deployment processes. I’m comfortable stepping into an existing codebase, understanding how it works, tracking down difficult problems, and developing practical solutions without needing everything rebuilt from scratch. I’ve worked closely with developers, designers, project managers, stakeholders, and non-technical users, including teams operating entirely remotely. While WordPress and PHP are my strongest areas, my background is broader web application development and CMS work. I’m currently looking for fully remote opportunities as a Senior WordPress Developer, PHP Developer, Backend Developer, or Web Applications Developer where I can contribute both hands-on development experience and strong technical problem-solving skills.
