Turning data and intelligence into decisions for business, security, and geopolitical risk | Economist (DBA) | Retired Special Forces | SQL · Python
Seeking: Business Intelligence Analyst · Intelligence Analyst; Geopolitical Analyst
I'm an intelligence analyst and economist who turns data and intelligence into decisions for business, security, and geopolitical risk. I've done this work for more than 15 years: as a U.S. Army Special Forces warrant officer focused on the Indo-Pacific and counter-China operations, as a CEO running a multi-business portfolio, and now as a researcher and community college department chair. Two results I'm proud of: I analyzed 13 years of federal education data (72 tables) in 3.5 weeks for a state research project, and an Indiana oversight board used the findings to investigate and change policy. In the military, I built intelligence target packages relied on by ambassadors, the Secret Service, the Department of Justice, and Department of Defense special operations units. My toolkit is SQL, Python, Tableau, and Power BI, plus LIWC and VADER for sentiment and language analysis. I recently built an AI-assisted Python pipeline that turned raw earnings-call transcripts into a validated 40,191-observation dataset. I hold a Doctor of Business Administration in behavioral economics from Pepperdine and held a TS/SCI clearance during my service. Next, I want a senior remote role in intelligence analysis, business intelligence, or geopolitical risk, where my analysis directly shapes decisions. I already work remotely as a research fellow, I'm comfortable on async teams, and I'm open to travel.
