I'm a product operations professional who's spent a little bit more than a decade existing in and adjacent to the world of steel fabrication, drafting and product operations. I've built the behind-the-senes systems like SOPs, KPIs, budgets, compliance, and a thousand checklists, that help get physical products from a napkin sketch to a factory to market - although I'd like to tighten my focus to the latter half. In my last position, I started on the warehouse floor and moved up into senior product leadership, directly reporting to the COO. I led a team of ten (three of which were direct reports, plus a few contractors here and there), overhauled and wrote new SOPs as I built processes, and polished reporting frameworks that the team still uses day to day. I expanded the development-and-launch process that got 250+ products live. On the compliance side, I've driven 3 FCC product certifications for US sale and drove EU REACH readiness. I've managed the relationships with 24 overseas factories, focussing on sourcing and quality. I've also built AI tools into our workflow, including one that reconstructs undocumented R&D to triple our annual SR&ED claims. I'm based in Alberta (Mountain Time) and working toward my APICS CPIM. I'm looking for a remote role in product operations, product management, or operations — ideally somewhere that documents well.
