Katie Schmitz

I am a healthcare operations and leadership development leader who brings together people, operations, learning, and continuous improvement. Most recently, I served as a New Center Launch Manager at BioLife Plasma Services, part of Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where I led complex, cross-functional initiatives across a national network. My work included operational readiness, process improvement, governance, leadership development, coaching, performance analysis, and building scalable tools and practices that help teams succeed. I have 13.5 years of progressive leadership experience with BioLife/Takeda, including experience in Center Management, Group Management, leadership development, and enterprise-level operations and launch strategy. I supported the successful launch of 94 plasma centers, coordinating across Operations, Training, Talent Acquisition, Engineering, and Center Management to establish readiness standards, processes, governance, and performance measures. I developed and launched an enterprise Peer Coaching program during a period of rapid organizational growth, creating the program structure, learning approach, tools, and rollout strategy and coaching a network of 40 Peer Coaches. I am looking for a remote leadership role where I can combine my strengths in operations, leadership development, talent management, organizational effectiveness, and cross-functional program leadership. I thrive in roles where I can serve as a trusted partner to leaders, bring structure to complex challenges, develop people and scalable solutions, and work collaboratively across a distributed organization.
