Juan Sanmiguel

I'm an Android engineer with 6 years of experience building native apps in Kotlin. For the past four years at Monks, I've been the lead Android developer on Bridgestone's My Firestone and Tires Plus apps (600K+ downloads), working in a 9-module codebase with a cross-functional team of 11 and keeping crash-free rates above 99%. Two things I'm proud of: I led the Unified Booking Flow, the largest rework of the apps in four years, merging four separate appointment flows into one so customers can book any combination of services in a single appointment, which increased appointment conversions. I also led the migration of 23 activities to a Single Activity architecture and drove the move from MVVM to MVI, preparing the apps for Jetpack Compose. Before that, I was the main Android developer for the Liga BBVA MX app at Globant (1M+ downloads). I've also shipped Flutter apps for iOS and Android, including personal projects I build with AI coding agents like Claude Code. Next, I'm looking for a senior Android role at a product company where I can own features end-to-end and keep improving architecture. I work remotely today with a US client, day to day in English (C1).
