Psychology Graduate | Customer Service Professional | Recovery Advocate | Future Clinical Mental Health Counselor
My name is Jodi Nuffer, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University after earning my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I am passionate about helping others overcome challenges, build resilience, and discover their own strengths. My educational journey has deepened my understanding of human behavior, mental health, addiction, and the importance of compassionate, client-centered care. In addition to my academic studies, I am actively involved in recovery and mental health support communities. I have more than five years of lived recovery experience and over two years of experience facilitating peer recovery and mental health support groups. I am the founder of a virtual mental health support community and help lead recovery-focused meetings where I provide support, encouragement, and connection to individuals from diverse backgrounds. I also bring more than 20 years of customer service experience, along with a background in event facilitation, leadership, and community support. Throughout my career, I have developed strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills while working with people from all walks of life. These experiences have strengthened my ability to remain calm under pressure, listen with empathy, and provide exceptional support in challenging situations. My long-term goal is to become a Clinical Mental Health Counselor specializing in addiction and mental health. By combining my education, professional experience, and lived recovery experience, I hope to empower individuals and families to achieve healing, personal growth, and lasting recovery while creating supportive environments where people feel heard, valued, and understood.
