James Mandevere

I am a Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Risk professional with approximately nine years of experience supporting organisations in the petroleum, construction, engineering, manufacturing and high-risk industrial sectors. My work includes developing, implementing and auditing ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems; conducting risk assessments and incident investigations; managing contractor compliance; preparing legal registers; and developing HSE procedures, safety files and performance dashboards. I also provide technical support for permit-to-work systems, confined-space entry, working at heights, lifting operations and emergency preparedness. One of my key achievements was leading the development and implementation of PetroENG’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System, which successfully achieved ISO 45001 certification through TÜV. Another major achievement was guiding PetroENG through Engen’s demanding contractor compliance process, resulting in the company becoming the first contractor to achieve Green Banding. I have also supported successful onboarding and compliance programmes for BP Southern Africa, TotalEnergies and AWS-related projects while maintaining strong safety performance and zero lost-time injuries across major projects. I am now looking for a remote HSE, HSSE, ISO Management Systems or Risk and Compliance role. I am particularly interested in positions involving ISO system development and auditing, contractor assurance, risk assessment, incident investigation, HSE documentation, compliance monitoring, data analysis and advisory support. I am open to working with organisations in South Africa and internationally.
