James Buckner

I help organizations and people get connected—whether that connection is across a city, a country, or through a satellite thousands of miles above the Earth. My career has focused on designing, engineering, implementing, and troubleshooting complex communication and networking environments, including satellite communications, enterprise networks, and service provider infrastructure. Over the years, I have worked across multiple industries and environments, developing a broad understanding of how networks operate from the physical layer through complex routing, connectivity, and service delivery. I enjoy taking complicated technical challenges, understanding the underlying problem, and developing practical solutions that work in the real world. I have delivered projects that improved operational efficiency and saved organizations millions of dollars by eliminating unnecessary manual processes, improving workflows, and applying technology more effectively. Just as importantly, I understand that technology is ultimately about people. I work well with technical teams, customers, vendors, and business stakeholders, and I believe successful engineering requires the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and turn business requirements into workable technical solutions. I am currently looking for a remote opportunity where I can apply the knowledge, experience, and training I have developed throughout my career while continuing to learn and contribute. My diverse background allows me to look at networking challenges from multiple perspectives and connect virtually any type of network or technology. If you are looking for someone who understands networking, has a proven record of applying that knowledge, and can turn complex requirements into practical solutions, let's talk. I would welcome the opportunity to understand your requirements, discuss your challenges, and work together to find a viable solution.
