Designed and rolled out a Dataflow and BigQuery streaming stack that replaced a fragile cron plus Airflow pipeline, dropping ingestion freshness from 30 minutes to 9 seconds at P99 across 2.4B events per day. Built the semantic layer on dbt and Looker that consolidated 180 hand written SQL reports into 42 certified models, cutting analyst onboarding from 6 weeks to 9 days. Led the cost program that rewrote the top 25 BigQuery jobs and moved cold tables to partitioned external storage, saving $780k annually while holding P95 query latency flat. Authored the on call runbook and SLO framework adopted by the broader engineering org; reduced data incidents breaching customer SLAs from 4 per quarter to 0 in the last 3 quarters. Mentored 2 junior engineers through promotion to mid level; one now owns the streaming ingestion service.
