Dr. Amber Nowlin

With 18 years of nursing experience and 15 years dedicated to nursing education, I bring a strong foundation of clinical expertise, academic leadership, and curriculum development that aligns well with remote and online nursing education. My bedside nursing experience spans multiple high-acuity and specialty areas, including the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, and Geriatrics. This diverse clinical background allows me to integrate real-world application into the virtual classroom and help students connect theory to safe, evidence-based nursing practice. As a nurse educator, I have taught Licensed Practical Nursing, Diploma Registered Nursing, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing students. I have served as an instructor at a technical career college for 3 years and at a university for 6 years. I currently serve as Healthcare Programs Coordinator and lead instructor for an LPN-to-RN bridge program, where I oversee curriculum development, instruction, and program evaluation. This experience has strengthened my ability to deliver effective education in both traditional and remote learning environments. In my leadership role over the past six years, I have provided curriculum oversight, faculty mentorship, and strategic program development. I have independently developed and launched multiple healthcare programs and guided them through accreditation processes. Key accomplishments include: Developing and launching an LPN-to-RN Bridge Program, now completing its second cohort with a 100% first-time NCLEX-RN pass rate. Improving a Practical Nursing program from a 73% NCLEX-PN first-time pass rate on probation to a sustained 100% pass rate across multiple cohorts. Designing a Patient Care Technician program currently pending final accreditation approval. Throughout my career, I have remained actively engaged in teaching, curriculum design, assessment development, and clinical instruction.
