Douglas Fenech

I'm an educator, course designer, and communication trainer with over 12 years of experience in international schools and higher education. My work focuses on public speaking, presentation skills, project-based learning, and creating practical, engaging learning experiences. A big part of my approach is giving learners meaningful ownership of what they are doing. I believe people learn best when they can explore ideas, make decisions, solve problems, and put their knowledge into practice rather than simply being given the answers. One achievement I'm particularly proud of is designing learner-led projects that enabled students to take ideas from conception to presentation in under four weeks, developing communication skills through curiosity, autonomy, and hands-on experience. I also founded and implemented a school-wide House System, creating a new structure for student participation, collaboration, and community. Alongside my education work, I'm now developing Third Place, where I'm creating presentation coaching, communication programs, interactive workshops, and collaborative learning experiences. I'm looking for remote roles in online teaching, public speaking and presentation training, curriculum and course development, and instructional design. I'm particularly interested in opportunities where I can combine strong learning design with practical, learner-centred experiences.
