Daniel Perez Rodriguez

Telecommunications Engineer and Full Stack Developer with more than 20 years of professional experience in software engineering, systems administration, robotics, computer vision, IoT and data-driven applications. My career has evolved from Linux and systems administration to R&D in robotics, computer vision and intelligent systems, and later to software engineering and technology entrepreneurship. I have worked across the entire software lifecycle, from low-level systems and hardware to backend services, databases, distributed systems and modern web applications. I have extensive experience with C++ and Qt, as well as Python, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL and Linux, and have worked with technologies including OpenCV, ROS, Docker, CI/CD, AWS and IoT. My current focus is on C++ software development, cross-platform applications, GIS and geospatial technologies, WebAssembly and modern software engineering practices. As a co-founder of a computer vision and image analysis company, I gained valuable experience in software architecture, technical leadership, infrastructure, project management and technology entrepreneurship. Earlier in my career, I worked as a research assistant in robotics, contributing to national and international projects involving autonomous and cooperative robots, UAVs, computer vision and real-time systems. I enjoy solving complex technical problems where software, hardware and real-world data meet. I am particularly interested in C++, software architecture, geospatial systems, computer vision, robotics, distributed systems, IoT and emerging technologies, especially AI Agentic Development, with a strong preference for open-source tools and robust, maintainable solutions. I am a hands-on engineer who enjoys understanding how things work from the lowest level up, while maintaining a broader perspective of the complete system and its operational requirements.
