I gained real-world research experience at the forefront of protein science as part of the group that first isolated the HCF173 translation factor. I participated in every stage of the purification strategy, from designing the methodology to executing cell transformation and batch growth, lysis, and multi-step chromatography. As part of the laboratory experience, I prepared reagents and buffers. I managed laboratory stock inventory and instrument readiness. As part of the experiment, I maintained all data and records in a clear and reproducible manner. As a result, I prepared a professionally styled report and gave a presentation about the project, summarising and explaining the results from chromatograms, assessing the yield and purity of the project.
