  • Optimize posts for engagement and search, including workshopping and tailoring graphics headlines and video titles/text on screen;
  • Run A/B tests, monitor post performance, and make adjustments as needed to maximize reach and viewership;
  • Monitor analytics, audience sentiment, and social media trends, and translate learnings into actionable insights for team members on a weekly basis;
  • Flag engaging content produced by outlets and creators doing work that is adjacent to MPU or which could inspire the social team to improve its work;
  • Engage with our followers by responding to comments, questions, and DMs, directing comments to appropriate team members as needed;
  • Complete assignments from supervisor and colleagues and meet deadlines;
  • Operate in a nimble environment;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts with a large reach;
  • Graphic design and video editing skills, including knowledge of tools such as Canva and CapCut;
  • Solid understanding of interfaces, best practices, algorithms, and metrics of major social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter/X.
  • Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools such as Sprout Social and RivalIQ;
  • Avid consumer of news from a variety of sources ranging from mainstream outlets to independent and social media;
  • Significant interest in and knowledge of U.S. politics and economic justice issues;
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage many priorities at once;
