About the client:
Our client is a digital marketing agency exclusively serving cannabis dispensaries across North America. Over the past 10 years, they have helped hundreds of dispensaries grow through custom websites, SEO, loyalty programs, and email marketing. About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Web Developer, AI-First to join the web team of our client and manage full-cycle website projects across all client accounts. Experience with US Clients and a digital marketing agency is required.
Experience within the wellness niche (cannabis dispensaries specifically) is highly preferred.
What you’ll be doing:
Design and build websites and landing pages, converting Figma mockups into polished WordPress and Elementor pages.
Leverage AI tools daily to accelerate workflows (e.g., Figma to Elementor conversion, code generation, debugging, routine task automation).
Handle high-volume ongoing maintenance and change requests across client sites (content updates, banners, links, plugin management, and layout fixes).
Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across various CMS environments using custom PHP, CSS, and JavaScript.
Adapt web designs to fit diverse brand guidelines, from corporate multi-location groups to streetwear-style dispensaries.
Work across cannabis-specific e-commerce CMSs (Blaze, Treez) and integrate online menu platforms (Dutchie, Jane, COVA, Breadstack, Blaze, Treez).
Assist with site migrations, DNS setups, Cloudflare configurations, and reverse-proxy setups.
Execute technical SEO configurations (GA4, GTM, schema markup, redirects, indexing checks, Core Web Vitals optimization).
Ensure website launches meet WCAG accessibility standards and cannabis compliance rules (age gates, state disclaimers).
Create detailed technical documentation for site builds so team members can seamlessly pick up work.
Who are we looking for?
4+ years of professional web development experience, including hands-on experience prior to the emergence of modern AI tools.
Strong design sense accompanied by a solid portfolio of well-performing, visually appealing websites.
Proven capability in managing a high volume of websites simultaneously in an agency or multi-client setting.
Deep proficiency with WordPress and multiple page builders, particularly Elementor.
Hands-on experience with non-WordPress CMS platforms (Shopify, PrestaShop, Drupal, or cannabis platforms like Blaze/Treez) and the ability to learn new software quickly.
Proficiency in core front-end languages: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a strong understanding of underlying code structures.
Active daily use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) to speed up code creation and debugging, with concrete examples of time-saving workflows.
Solid understanding of technical SEO fundamentals and web accessibility (WCAG).
