We are currently looking for a Video Editor to join us on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is a project-based opportunity, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit video content across a variety of formats including long-form, short-form, social video, brand films, explainer videos, motion graphic sequences, and event/conference content.
- Manage the full post-production workflow from ingest and assembly through to colour grade, sound mix, and final export.
- Apply motion graphics and basic visual effects to enhance storytelling and align with creative direction.
- Ensure all deliverables are exported to the correct technical specifications for each platform (web, broadcast, social, OOH digital, etc.).
- Maintain organised project files, asset libraries, and version control throughout each project lifecycle.
- Work closely with Creative Directors, Producers, and Strategists to understand the brief, tone, and audience for each project.
- Contribute ideas during creative brainstorming and post-production planning sessions.
- Interpret creative direction accurately and apply it consistently across edits.
- Provide constructive input on pacing, storytelling, music selection, and visual style.
- Incorporate client and internal feedback efficiently across multiple revision rounds.
- Communicate clearly on timelines, technical constraints, and production status with Producers and Account teams.
- Maintain a solutions-oriented approach when navigating scope changes or tight deadlines.
- Ensure all video content meets Gravity Global's standards of quality, brand accuracy, and compliance.
- Stay up to date with platform specifications, delivery requirements, and evolving best practices across digital and social channels.
- Conduct thorough self-QA before submitting edits for review.
- Identify opportunities to improve post-production workflows, templates, and asset management processes.
- Stay informed on emerging tools, techniques, and formats in video production and motion design.
- Support the evaluation and adoption of new software, AI-assisted editing tools, and efficiency improvements within the production practice.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 3–5 years of professional video editing experience in an agency, production company, or in-house creative environment.
- Proven portfolio demonstrating a range of video formats — from social-first short-form content to longer brand or campaign films.
- Experience editing for multiple platforms including social media (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube), web, and broadcast or digital OOH.
- Exposure to motion graphics and animation integrated into editorial work.
- Experience working within fast-paced, deadline-driven environments managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro.
Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and compositing.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition).
- Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual rhythm.
- Excellent attention to detail and high personal quality standards.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to take clear, constructive feedback and iterate quickly.
