We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.

CAT Pricing Lead

The CAT Pricing Lead will be a actuarial leader responsible for shaping and executing catastrophe pricing strategy across the Global Commercial Property portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of actuarial pricing, catastrophe modeling, and portfolio management—partnering closely with underwriting, exposure management, and reinsurance teams. You will drive the integration of catastrophe risk insights into pricing decisions, ensuring alignment with business strategy, risk appetite, and profitability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

CAT Pricing Strategy & Ownership

  • Lead the development and execution of catastrophe (CAT) pricing strategy across key perils (e.g., hurricane, earthquake, wildfire, flood) globally.

  • Design and implement the “next generation” pricing framework incorporating model outputs, climate insights, and portfolio considerations.

  • Ensure pricing reflects risk-adjusted returns, market conditions, and underwriting objectives.

Analytics & Modeling Integration

  • Translate catastrophe model outputs (e.g., RMS, AIR) into actionable pricing metrics and underwriting guidance.

  • Oversee CAT load development, technical pricing assumptions, and pricing segmentation.

  • Drive enhancements in data, modeling techniques, and pricing tools.

Portfolio & Risk Management

  • Partner with underwriting and exposure management to monitor CAT accumulation and portfolio risk.

  • Lead analysis of rate adequacy, profitability, and CAT return metrics.

  • Support portfolio optimization decisions (limits, attachment points, deductibles, sublimits).

Business Partnership

  • Provide pricing insights and recommendations to underwriting leadership to support deal-level decisions.

  • Act as a trusted advisor on CAT risk, pricing, and portfolio trade-offs.

  • Collaborate across functions including underwriting, reinsurance pricing, reserving, and CAT modeling.

Reinsurance & Planning

  • Support annual reinsurance placement and planning by providing CAT pricing and portfolio analytics.

  • Contribute to capital allocation and risk appetite discussions.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop a team of actuaries and analysts focused on CAT pricing.

  • Foster a high-performance culture with strong technical expertise and business alignment.

  • Mentor talent across actuarial and catastrophe functions.

Innovation & Tools

  • Improve speed-to-market and pricing efficiency through partnerships with technology and insurtech providers.

  • Lead modernization of pricing platforms and CAT pricing capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of actuarial experience in property pricing.

  • Deep expertise in catastrophe modeling platforms (e.g., RMS, AIR) and CAT risk concepts.

  • Proven experience integrating CAT modeling into pricing and portfolio decisions.

  • Strong leadership experience managing actuarial or analytics teams.

  • Advanced proficiency in analytics tools (SQL, Python/R preferred).

  • Experience working cross-functionally with underwriting, exposure management, and reinsurance teams.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinking with ability to translate analytics into business action.

  • Strong communication skills—able to convey complex CAT/pricing concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Expertise in portfolio management, risk-return optimization, and pricing governance.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities.

The base salary range for this position is $201,000.00 - $275,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
