Role description:

Arcadis seeks qualified UXO Technicians I for project sites across the United States and US Territories. This is a general talent pool posting, candidates may be considered for current and future opportunities as they arise.

All candidates must meet the requirements of DDESB TP‑18 (latest version) for the desired position.

Role accountabilities:

As a UXO Tech I, you will:

  • Assist in the identification, classification, and location of unexploded ordnance (UXO), munitions, and explosives of concern (MEC) under supervision
  • Locate surface UXO by visual means and assist in subsurface detection using approved geophysical equipment
  • Assist with excavation and recovery of subsurface anomalies and munitions
  • Support the safe handling, consolidation, transport, and storage of UXO and demolition materials in accordance with approved procedures
  • Assist in preparing electric and non-electric firing systems for UXO disposal operations under direction of qualified personnel
  • Support decontamination activities, including personnel and equipment decontamination when required
  • Operate safely and efficiently in accordance with approved work plans, Arcadis policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols

Qualifications & Experience:

To qualify as a UXO Tech I, you must have:

  • Completion of a DDESB-compliant UXO Technician I training course (minimum training requirements as defined in TP‑18)
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification, with current 8-hour refresher and OSHA physical
  • Ability to perform duties under the supervision of UXO Qualified Personnel (UXOQP)
  • Obtain and maintain an ATF Possessor clearance for handling explosives
  • Working knowledge of basic MEC safety and field operations
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Physical ability to perform fieldwork in outdoor and potentially hazardous environments

 Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
