IBMC is assisting a client in hiring a vital UX Lead to drive a high-impact research and prototyping mandate for an extremely complex risk and fraud management platform. This is not a generic UI/UX Designer vacancy or a visual production role. It is a senior, hands-on, individual-contributor mandate embedded within a strong, established product and engineering team.
Your mission is to personally research professional Risk Managers, understand how they monitor, investigate, and act within high-consequence environments, and turn that evidence into tested, interactive prototypes. Acting as the vital bridge between domain experts, product managers, and software engineers, you will establish an evidence-backed model of complex user journeys to ensure the team implements the right product direction.
Qualitative UX Research: Personally plan, recruit, and conduct in-depth qualitative research (interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing) with specialist, professional users (Risk Managers).
Journey Mapping & Synthesis: Map complex workflows, workarounds, decision points, and failure points; synthesize findings into documented user segments, contexts, and prioritized journeys.
Hands-On Prototyping: Turn research findings into high-fidelity information architecture, interaction models, and realistic interactive prototypes (including edge cases and complex states) using Figma or equivalent tools.
Iterative Validation: Conduct multi-iteration testing with representative risk professionals to validate concepts, refine workflows, and document rationale for implementation.
Product Alignment & Challenge: Serve as an autonomous thought partner across product, engineering, and domain experts; challenge existing assumptions and propose improved structures based strictly on evidence.
Cross-Functional Handoff: Partner directly with Product Managers and engineers through the build phase, ensuring findings and decisions are thoroughly documented for seamless technical execution.
Requirements
Professional Experience: 5 to 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience in UX research and interactive product design (typically 7–12 years target range).
Research Ownership: Proven track record of personally planning, executing, and synthesizing qualitative research with specialist or professional users performing complex tasks.
Complex Systems Experience: Strong systems-thinking capability with experience designing for dense data environments, multi-step decisions, and high-consequence workflows.
Hands-On Prototyping Skills: Demonstrated expertise in building complex, data-heavy interactive prototypes from scratch.
Iterative Impact: Clear portfolio evidence showing how user research directly transformed a design iteration and led to a successfully implemented product outcome.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Experience working side-by-side with Product Managers and software engineers through to production build.
Language Proficiency: Fluent, professional spoken and written English skills to interview international users and present clear findings to a distributed team.
Location & Employment: Based in Indonesia and available for a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract (PKWT).
