As a UX Designer at Portland Webworks, you can expect to:

  • Design user-centered wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and personas
  • Lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering with clients. Translate user needs into intuitive designs
  • Conduct user research and usability tests to inform design decisions
  • Present designs and collect feedback from stakeholders and internal teams, advocating for user-centered solutions
  • Produce site maps and navigable information architecture
  • Hand off designs with detailed documentation to developers
  • Partner closely with a team of highly skilled software developers, project managers, graphic designers, and quality assurance professionals throughout the entire project life cycle
  • Manage multiple client projects and timelines at once
  • Conduct site audits and content review

As a UX Designer at Portland Webworks, you will bring:

  • 3-5 years of UX design experience
  • Highly proficient in Figma creating wireframes and managing large design files
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills. Be a proactive participant in meetings
  • Willingness to accept feedback to iterate and improve on designs
  • Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Experience working at an agency a plus
  • Experience working in the public sector a plus
Applicants in Maine will be prioritized, but we are open to remote candidates.
