Temporary Jr. GIS Analyst

Genex Systems is seeking a temporary Jr. GIS Analyst to support NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC), in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will support GIS data creation, management, editing, and cleanup, map creation, some experience builder and dashboard development for facilities and utilities on JSC. This position is temporary from approximately 9/24/2026 through 12/31/2026 with potential for extension or conversion to full time.

This position is remote optional or hybrid if the candidate is located near a NASA center within the continental United States. Candidates must be located within the continental United States.

Position tasks include:

• Receive data and make appropriate updates in the GIS
• Work with field surveyors and external parties to transform data for addition to the GIS
• Manage, Update, Maintain, QA/QC attribute data
• Create map products for users
• Create story maps for presentations
• Support data standardization efforts, familiarity with SDSFIE preferred
• Edit data within a branch version environment

Position Requirements

• 3 years of experience as a GIS technician, specialist, or analyst
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or other similar subject. May substitute experience for degree on 1:1 basis.
• Experience with ESRI GIS Software
• Experience working on collaborative projects in a remote environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactive and comprehensive troubleshooting and problem solving skills
