Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Technical Solutions BIM Manager for our Dallas, TX office. This candidate will be responsible for leading design-technology training programs, workshops, and onboarding to continuously upskill engineering staff and CAD production teams.

Responsibilities include:

Strategic BIM Management & Standards

  • Establish and enforce practice-wide and project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP), workflows, and protocols across multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
  • Oversee multi-discipline modeling operations in Autodesk Revit, setting project coordinates, shared parameters, Level of Development (LOD 100–500), and COBie data standards across all design phases.
  • Author project BIM scopes and technical labor estimates for proposals, contracts, and resource planning.

Model Coordination, Data Management & Quality Control

  • Assemble and maintain 3D federated models using Autodesk Navisworks to run clash detection, chair coordination meetings, generate mitigation reports, and drive issue resolution.
  • Direct Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows and file exchange procedures across local networks, BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, and virtual platforms.
  • Perform quality assurance and model health audits to ensure data integrity, adherence to company standards, and flawless constructability reviews.
  • Deliver visual sequencing and advanced presentations using InfraWorks, Navisworks Timeliner, and Twinmotion to communicate design intent and phasing to stakeholders.

Civil & Infrastructure Integration

  • Translate broad engineering intent into BIM deliverables.
  • Oversee complex geospatial data transformations, integrating LiDAR point clouds, DEMs, and field survey control into unified project coordinate systems.
  • Bridge civil infrastructure with vertical infrastructure, ensuring seamless cross-platform data integration throughout the project lifecycle.

Leadership & Client Representation

  • Act as the primary BIM authority in client-facing milestones, including kickoff meetings, interdisciplinary coordination reviews, and final project closeouts.
  • Operate with high autonomy, mentoring junior designers and resolving complex, non-routine technical modeling bottlenecks under limited supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • US Citizenship is a requirmenet for this posting. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 + years of relevant experience.
  • 12 + years of Revit experience in large scale/complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficient with these software programs Microstation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, BIM360/ACC, Dynamo, ProjectWise, Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, Navisworks, InfraWorks, Vehicle Tracking, ReCap ESRI GIS, Blue Marble Global Mapper or other GIS application.
  • Strong technical progression within civil engineering and design.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.
  • Some experience with these software programs a plus: OpenGround, GeoPak and Plant 3D.
  • The individual should have excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent demonstrable civil modeling ability on large scale/complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • As well as BIM/CIM manager duties, the individual would also be expected to work as a production designer and contributor to AECOM Digital innovations team.
