Position Overview
We are seeking a Technical Lead, Platform to lead the design, development, and evolution of our backend platform services. This role is responsible for building and scaling Python-based services and APIs, driving architecture decisions, and leading a team of engineers delivering high-quality, production-grade platform capabilities.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Python expert who combines deep backend expertise with strong leadership and a product-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Own the architecture and design of Python-based backend services and APIs
Drive decisions on scalable, secure, and high-performance Python systems
Translate high-level business requirements into scalable technical architecture and system design
Execution & Delivery
Lead engineers building high-performance backend services in Python
Ensure delivery of scalable, maintainable Python code in production
Partner closely with Product, Operations, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical deliverables
Drive operational excellence including monitoring, debugging, and system reliability
Platform & Architecture
Design and evolve Python-based microservices architecture
Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Python frameworks (Django, Flask, Fast API)
Design event-driven systems and scalable backend services
Ensure extensibility, performance, and system reliability
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Mentor engineers in advanced Python development and system design
Conduct code reviews emphasizing Python best practices
Elevate engineering standards and backend architecture quality
Foster ownership, accountability, and product-driven engineering mindset
Qualifications
8+ years of backend engineering experience with Python as the primary language
Expert-level proficiency building production-grade Python services
Strong experience with Python frameworks (Django, Flask, Fast API)
Proven experience building scalable APIs and distributed systems in Python
Strong database design, SQL optimization, and data modeling experience
Experience deploying and operating Python systems on AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3)
Experience with ORMs such as SQL Alchemy and Python data access patterns
Leadership & Impact
Proven experience leading backend teams using Python
Strong ability to define and execute Python-first technical strategy
Track record of mentoring engineers and improving system quality

Expert-level Python development for backend services, APIs, and microservices
