Tax Supervisor
What you will be doing:
As a member of the tax team, the Tax Manager will work with a diverse client base and the primary responsibilities include:
Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, business, estates, trusts and research unusual tax matters
Perform complex tax research for clients
Reviews and responds to IRS notices
Prepares research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other taxing authorities.
Assist in IRS audits, competently represent clients at IRS correspondence audits.
Assist business partners with other financial aspects of business, taxes, financial, strategy, etc.
Manages multiple clients, budgets and production goals
Identify and communicate creative ideas to improve client service, and entrepreneurial spirit to expand services with clients
Be involved with professional organizations, conventions & conferences
Participation in educational/training workshops for clients
Manage, develop and mentor staff on projects and assess performance through periodic performance evaluations and informal feedback
Facilitates in-house training

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Taxation, Finance or other business related field
At least five (5) years tax experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in complexity, scope, preparing tax returns
Minimum two (2) years’ experience at a senior tax level position
Solid technical skills in tax accounting
Display excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and independently prioritize multiple tasks.
Demonstrated skills necessary to ensure high quality client service
Ability to supervise staff members
Highly organized, ability to work well under pressure, ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and budgets
Tech savvy - high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel), Tax programs (CCH Access (including Document and Tax), PDFlyer, SurePrep, BNA Tax Planner, TValue, Quickbooks)
