The Structural Engineer will perform structural analysis and design for equipment, supports, and facility systems. They are also responsible for developing technical reports, calculations, and design documentation to support project execution.
This is a remote position.
Design Hire is seeking a Structural Engineer to support analysis, design, and technical documentation for complex facility and equipment-related projects. This role is a strong fit for someone with a civil or structural engineering background who can apply solid mechanics, analysis tools, and practical engineering judgment in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform structural analysis and design for equipment, supports, foundations, components, and related facility systems.
• Develop calculations, technical reports, design documentation, and engineering deliverables for project execution.
• Use analysis tools to evaluate loads, stresses, structural behavior, and design alternatives.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, electrical, and project teams to support integrated design solutions.
• Review field conditions, drawings, specifications, and engineering inputs to support accurate design decisions.
Qualifications
• 3 to 10 +/- years of structural engineering experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field required.
• Experience supporting nuclear, power generation, heavy industrial, or highly regulated facility projects preferred.
• Familiarity with finite element analysis or other structural analysis methods.
• Mathcad, MATLAB, or similar engineering calculation software experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanics, structural behavior, load paths, and engineering fundamentals.
• Exposure to hydraulics, fluid systems, or equipment-related structural design is a plus.
• Strong technical writing, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
