Staff AI Product Engineer

GoodParty.org is looking for a Staff AI Product Engineer to help scale frontier AI to empower tens of thousands of Independent candidates and elected officials who are putting people over parties. This is a role for an engineer who nerds out about the latest in AI, tests what actually works, and turns the best ideas into durable, high-impact features for our users.

You will lead technical projects without needing to be a people manager: shaping architecture, setting patterns, building across the stack, and pushing our AI-native products into the hands of civic leaders who are solving real problems for their communities.

What you'll do:

• You will single-handedly build and own large parts of the GoodParty.org products that serve independent candidates and elected officials every day.

• You will iterate extremely quickly. You’ll regularly take rough product ideas (a sentence or two) and transform those into a working MVP in 1-2 days. Then, you’ll ask “how could I have done this in 1-2 hours?”

• You won’t manually write code, and you won’t manually review code.

• You will push the boundaries of what is possible with agents, both in GoodParty.org products and in your day-to-day-work.
  
  Who we're looking for:

• You have hard experience shipping and iterating on production AI systems with real usage. You have hands-on experience designing eval systems, building agent graphs, and doing general agent engineering.

• You are bored by most blog posts on AI and agentic engineering. You’re past that, and are interested in personally pushing the envelope by designing, building, and measuring processes and systems that actually work on your team.

• You have a hard track record of single-handedly delivering internal improvements that meaningfully and measurably increase the output of everyone on your team. You obsess over projects like this that create leverage for the whole team.

• You are skilled at the whole remote communication thing. In chaotic situations, you are a clarity-creator.

Bonus if:

• You have professional or volunteer experience in civic tech, democracy reform, political campaigns, or social impact initiatives.

The salary range is $200,000 - 235,000 for this remote, full-time position with excellent benefits. This range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, seniority, education, qualifications, certifications, and organizational needs. We reserve the right to modify this pay range at any time.
