Contract Details:

  • Contract Type: Independent Contractor Agreement
  • Contract Duration: 12 months (client dependent)
  • Time Zone Requirement: Overlap 4–6 working hours with U.S. time zones
  • Locations: Philippines Remote (right to work in Philippines)

What We’re Looking For:

Responsible for the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the senior accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 years' of accounting experience (US accounting and taxation experience required)
  • Intermediate to advanced QuickBooks proficiency (non-negotiable)
  • Competency with Tax1099, Bill.com
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in industries of real estate, professional services, entertainment preferred
  • Demonstrable knowledge of local, state and federal US laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation
  • Effective time management to meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail and customer service skills
  • Proactive communication and issue escalation
  • Strong learning agility

Responsibilities (may vary by client):

  • Prepare journal entries and complete general ledger operations
  • Monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
  • High level review of client prepared books for errors, discrepancies & to do reconciliations
  • Proficient with preparing and understanding the US payroll tax requirements and adjustments
  • Experience reconciling cash, payroll and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial reports
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
  • Assist clients with year-end closings
  • Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
  • Account/bank reconciliations
  • General accounting support tasks for clients including but not limited to entering disbursements, recording invoices and payments, expense vouchers, receipts, and accounts payables
  • Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Investigates questionable data.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
