Sr. Service Engineer

This is a remote position.

Technical Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of rooftop solar PV plants.
  

• Diagnose and resolve faults related to modules, inverters, strings, junction boxes, cables, earthing, and SCADA.
  

• Ensure maximum plant availability and performance ratio (PR).
  

• Analyze generation data and identify performance degradation or abnormalities.
  

• Supervise testing, commissioning, and system upgrades when required.
  

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site SOPs.
  

Operational Responsibilities

• Plan and execute service schedules across assigned rooftop sites.
  

• Coordinate with vendors/OEMs for warranty claims and technical support.
  

• Maintain service logs, breakdown reports, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and corrective action reports.
  

• Support audits, inspections, and performance reviews.
  

• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability at sites.
  

Customer & Coordination Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers.
  

• Address customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.
  

• Provide technical explanations and performance reports to clients.
  

• Coordinate with internal teams (Projects, Design, SCM, Finance) for issue resolution.
  

Personal Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned sites and service deliverables.
  

• Maintain high standards of professional ethics, discipline, and safety.
  

• Ensure timely communication and reporting to seniors and stakeholders.
  

• Mentor and guide junior service engineers/technicians.
  

• Continuously update technical knowledge on solar PV technologies.
  

• Be available for emergency breakdowns and critical service calls when required.
  

• Represent the organization professionally at client locations.
