Summary
 The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely close processes, and adherence to US GAAP. This role will lead technical accounting research, manage financial statement preparation, oversee consolidations, and supervise staff responsible for core accounting areas including leases, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and related close activities. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in strengthening processes, improving systems, and supporting continued scalability as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple entities.
• Lead technical accounting research and develop accounting memos (US GAAP).
• Manage preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Oversee the consolidation process and ensure intercompany activity is properly reconciled.
• Supervise accounting staff responsible for leases, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and other GL processes.
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and close deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
• Partner with FP&A, Operations, Contracts, and Program Finance to ensure accurate reporting.
• Support implementation, optimization, and controls within Oracle and Deltek Costpoint.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing materials for external auditors and support audit requests.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives across the accounting function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP).
• Experience with consolidations and multi-entity environments.
• Aerospace & Defense or manufacturing industry experience preferred but not required.
• Oracle and/or Deltek Costpoint experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
