Description

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Sr. Automation Strategist with deep experience in technology-driven development initiatives and enterprise strategy to support our growing UiPath Automation Team. This role is responsible for shaping and implementing strategies related to automation, data, analytics, business intelligence, and AI across academic, research, and healthcare environments. The strategist will drive cross-enterprise collaboration, governance, and transformation initiatives that align with institutional goals, unlock new value, and ensure sustainable growth through innovation. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with technical fluency, stakeholder management, and process optimization.

 

This invidual will serve as a healthcare process improvement leader who has served as a Business Analyst, Process Engineer, Operational Excellence Consultant, Healthcare Consultant, Product Owner, or Project Manager, and has experience building business cases and facilitating executive discussions, and can independently identify, prioritize, and drive automation opportunities from intake through value realization.  This position works on an Automation Development team and you will partner with those team members who will be performing the technical dev scope of these worksteams.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Process Discovery & Analysis (Most Important):

  • Quickly understand workflows within each department you interact with
  • Facilitate process mapping sessions
  • Separate symptoms from root causes
  • Identify automation opportunities versus process redesign opportunities
  • Challenge inefficient processes before automating them

Business Case & ROI Development:

  • Quantify benefits
  • Estimate effort vs value
  • Define KPIs
  • Build executive-level business cases
  • Prioritize competing opportunities

Executive Influencing Skills:

  • Run steering committees
  • Present to VPs
  • Handle resistance
  • Lead difficult conversations

Project Management & Execution Discipline:

  • Drive timelines
  • Manage dependencies
  • Track risks
  • Coordinate UAT
  • Ensure signoffs occur
  • Escalate issues appropriately

5. Requirements & User Story Development, write/author the following:

  • User stories
  • Process Definition Documents
  • Functional requirements
  • Business exceptions
  • Acceptance criteria
  • UAT scripts

6. Healthcare Operations Experience:

  • Work queues
  • Operational metrics
  • Regulatory concerns
  • Change management in healthcare

7. Change Management & Adoption Skills:

  • Lead process change
  • Manage stakeholder expectations
  • Create communications
  • Develop training approaches
  • Drive usage after go-live

8. Data & Analytics:

  • Using Excel
  • Analyzing operational metrics
  • Building dashboards
  • Identifying trends
  • Defining KPIs

9. Technical Curiosity, understand concepts such as:

  • APIs
  • Workflow automation
  • AI/IDP
  • System integrations
  • Queue-based work

10. Storytelling & Communication:

  • Tell the story of value
  • Translate technical concepts into business outcomes
  • Create executive-ready PowerPoints
  • Write clear summaries

Healthcare technology business analysis/project management experience

Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

PMP

CBAP (Business Analysis)

Prosci Change Management

Azure Dev Ops

UiPath familiarity/exposure

Service Now experience

AI/Intelligent Document Processing exposure

PowerBI dashboard building experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Healthcare, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in healthcare or academic environments, with a focus on process improvement, innovation, or technology strategy
    • Experience building business cases, defining ROI, and validating value with senior stakeholders
    • Expertise in business process design, requirements gathering, user story development, and technical documentation
    • Demonstrated success in communicating complex technical concepts to a wide variety of audiences
    • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and visual storytelling techniques
    • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across technical and business functions
    • Experience mentoring others and leading team-based execution efforts
