Support Services of Virginia (SSVA) is looking for compassionate individuals, couples, and families in Danville, Pittsylvania County, Chatham, Gretna, Halifax County, South Boston, South Hill, Clarksville, Boydton, Martinsville, Collinsville, Henry County, and surrounding communities who are interested in becoming Sponsored Residential Providers.
Sponsored Residential Providers open their homes to an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities and provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Providers help individuals develop greater independence, participate in their communities, work toward personal goals, and experience the stability of a family-style home.
Compensation
Sponsored Residential Providers can earn approximately $48,000-$124,000 annually, based on the support needs of the individual(s) served and applicable program funding levels. Payments are issued on a biweekly basis.
What Providers Do
Offer a safe, stable, and welcoming home
Support an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence
Assist with daily living skills and individual goals
Encourage community involvement and meaningful connections
Work with SSVA to establish a strong provider match based on compatibility, lifestyle, and interests
SSVA Provides
Required training at no cost
Support with licensing and certification
Ongoing assistance from an experienced SSVA team
24/7 on-call support
Biweekly payments
Qualifications
Applicants must:
Be 21 years of age or older
Have a high school diploma or GED
Be active and involved in the local community
Have at least six months of personal or professional experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
Be comfortable using technology and electronic documentation systems
Have effective written communication skills
Individuals who do not currently meet the experience requirement may have opportunities to obtain qualifying experience through employment with SSVA.
