UserVoice is seeking a full-stack Software Engineer to work on UserVoice Discovery, our flagship product feedback platform. This is listed as a hybrid position to try and dissuade fake applicants, it is a fully remote position that is open to candidates anywhere in the United States.
About UserVoice
Our engineering team values genuine impact over arbitrary metrics — success is measured by how customers react to what we build. We're at an inflection point: AI is fundamentally changing what's possible in product feedback analysis, and we're actively exploring that frontier. You won't just be building to spec — you'll help figure out what's worth building in the first place.
The Work
UserVoice Discovery sits at the intersection of qualitative research and large-scale data analysis. Our core challenge is making sense of thousands of pieces of unstructured customer feedback, and AI is central to how we're tackling it. You'll build systems that surface patterns, extract signal from noise, and help product teams make better decisions — thinking deeply about what intelligence applied to feedback data can actually unlock.
About You
Experience: 3+ years of professional development experience, with a good mix of back-end and front-end skills
AI Enthusiasm: You're genuinely excited about applying AI/ML techniques to analyze large qualitative data sets — not as a buzzword, but as a real tool for surfacing insight at scale
Comfortable with Ambiguity: You thrive when the problem isn't fully defined. You can navigate uncertainty, make reasonable bets, and iterate toward clarity rather than waiting for perfect requirements
Curious by Nature: You're drawn to unexplored territory — whether that's a new technique, an unfamiliar codebase, or a question nobody's asked yet. You explore, form hypotheses, and share what you find
Adaptability: Quick to learn new codebases with minimal guidance
Proactive: You voice your ideas on engineering, product development, and company operations
Problem Solver: Always searching for the best solutions while considering project goals
Flexibility: Comfortable with broad requirements and able to work with evolving specifications
Preferred Skills
Languages and Frameworks: Go, Ruby on Rails, React, Tailwind CSS, Angular
Databases: Knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases
Containers: Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes
AI & Data: Experience with AI/LLM tooling, prompt engineering, or applying machine learning techniques to unstructured text — and the curiosity to go deeper
What We Offer
Collaborative Environment: Small, tight-knit team working across all company aspects
Reputable Clients: Work on products trusted by well-known companies
Retirement Plan: 401k
Comprehensive Benefits: Fully paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees, with substantial contributions for family coverage
Unlimited PTO: Take the time off you need to recharge
Flexible Work Week: 4-day work week
