We are looking for a Software Architect to lead the end-to-end technical design of a high-volume broadcast messaging platform built on AWS.
This is an internally focused role responsible for defining the architecture, guidelines, and engineering standards that enable scalable, secure, and cost-efficient delivery of short-code and messaging workflows.
The architect will partner closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to translate requirements into actionable designs and provide hands-on support throughout implementation.
Leading the architecture and evolution of global video and media workflows.
Designing and developing backend services and integrations for media management and publishing platforms.
Building workflows for video ingestion, transcoding, archiving, metadata management, publishing, search, and retrieval.
Developing APIs and services supporting high-volume media and publishing platforms.
Integrating AI-based capabilities for video analysis, metadata generation, tagging, quality checks, and semantic search.
Working as part of global and diversified teams to improve development processes and engineering standards.
Participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Participating in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
Defining engineering standards and driving technical excellence across teams.
Improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of existing systems.
Supporting incident response and troubleshooting for critical production issues.
Leading cross-functional technical initiatives and driving technical alignment across stakeholders.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of backend software engineering and distributed systems.
Has at least 8 years of commercial software engineering experience.
Strong backend development skills in Java, Python, Go, or similar programming languages.
Experience integrating or extending Digital Asset Management (DAM) or Media Asset Management (MAM) platforms in production environments.
Experience with large-scale video production, publishing, archiving, and distribution workflows.
Experience integrating rights-management or licensing platforms.
Strong knowledge of APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues, and distributed systems.
Experience building and operating cloud-based services in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience applying AI or Machine Learning capabilities to video and media workflows.
Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
Experience in news, publishing, broadcast, or video-streaming environments.
Demonstrates strong communication skills when interacting with clients and team members.
Has experience gathering requirements, documenting, and presenting technical solutions.
Demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to new projects, technologies, and business domains.
Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and provide expert support for production environments.
English: Communicative (B2+), capable of day-to-day interactions with customers and global teams.
Direct experience with Mimir, CHP, WordPress, Rightsline, or similar media platforms.
Experience with Suite, LucidLink, Mosaic, or related media-production tools.
Familiarity with video formats, codecs, retention policies, and cloud-storage strategies.
Experience with computer vision, ML model integration, or automated content evaluation.
Knowledge of video taxonomies, metadata standards, semantic search, and content discovery solutions.
Understanding of the strengths, limitations, and pricing models of major LLM providers.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps practices.
