If you've ever run a brand's social from the inside, you know the quiet frustration of it. You build the strategy, you write every caption, you answer every comment, you pull the report, and at the end of the month you've done the work of three people for the recognition of none. One brand. One voice. One line on your resume.
This is the opposite of that.
Pod 2 at Rare Necessity is where ecommerce and local service brands come to grow. You'd run social for a portfolio of them at once. Some you take end to end, you post, you run the community, you're on the client call. Others you architect the 30-day calendar, write the scripts, hand it off, and the client's own team runs it from your plan. Either way, you're the strategist behind the account, and you'll do it across more niches in a quarter than most people touch in a career.
The person who thrives here can hold a handful of different brand voices in their head without blending them into mush, and gets a little thrill from cracking the hook that finally makes a boring local business interesting. The person who struggles here needs one brand, one calendar, and a manager who tells them what to post on Tuesday.
A portfolio, not a job. Most social people spend three years on one brand. You'll work across ecommerce and local service accounts at the same time, each with its own voice, audience, and funnel. A skincare DTC brand does not sound like a med spa does not sound like a law firm. Learning to walk into any of them and sound native is the rarest skill in this field, and it's the one that makes you expensive. You'll build it faster here than anywhere else because you'll do it every single week.
A system that's already built, so you're not inventing the wheel. Pod 2 runs on frameworks the team has refined across dozens of accounts. Calendar structures, hook libraries, script formats, and a Pod Lead who's built this playbook and hands it to you on day one. You bring the voice and the judgment. You're not starting from a blank page every month, you're pointing an existing engine at a new brand.
A real tier system, so the load makes sense. Your fully managed accounts are the ones you post and run community for. Your strategy accounts are the ones you plan and hand off. The mix is deliberate and it's capped so you're never drowning. As the pod grows, your comp grows with it, automatically, without you having to ask.
Comp that scales with your book. Base is $1,700/month for up to 12 accounts. Every account past that adds to your check, and every account that moves up to full-service adds more. Hit the six and twelve-month marks and there's a retention bonus waiting. Most offshore contracts pay you the same whether you carry 5 clients or 15. This one pays you for what you actually carry.
A company where marketing is the whole business. RNDA is Forbes-recognized, WBENC-certified, and has driven more than $50 million for clients. You'd work alongside a real pod, a production team that shoots the content you plan, and a Pod 2 Lead who's built this playbook. When you have a better idea, there are people here who can tell that it's better and put it live.
Five questions. Answer them properly and you're most of the way to a yes.
Link your portfolio, and point us to scripts or calendars you personally wrote. Not grids you designed. The writing. If your best work is the strategy behind the post, show us that.
Pick one of these and build a week. A local med spa, a DTC skincare brand, or a personal-injury law firm. Give us a 7-day content calendar: hooks, formats, and a full script for one post. Spend no more than an hour. We're reading for judgment and voice, not polish, and we won't use your work without hiring you.
Now do it in a different voice. Take the same week you just built and tell us, in a few lines, how it would change for one of the other two businesses. This is the whole job. Show us you can hear the difference.
Your best result, with the number. What did you make, what did it do, and how do you know? Give us the metric and the baseline it beat. A number with no baseline is a decoration.
What's your setup and your hours? Where you're based, your internet, and the hours you can reliably overlap with US Eastern time. Be straight with us, we're building a real schedule around real people.
Compensation: $1,500 to $2,000/month USD
Timeline: 5 to 7 days from first call to offer. We move fast, and we expect you to move with us.
