What this Journey Looks Like
At Pearster, we are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Developer / Business Systems Analyst to join our prominent Canadian fintech client. This hybrid role combines business analysis, solution design, ServiceNow development, and stakeholder engagement to deliver scalable, enterprise solutions across the ServiceNow platform.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and other developers to analyze business requirements, recommend solutions, configure and develop the ServiceNow platform, and support the delivery of enhancements from intake through production.
What You'll Lead and Build
Business Analysis
Act as the primary Business Systems Analyst (BSA) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple concurrent requests, enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, user stories, process maps, and workflow diagrams.
Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, requirements reviews, and stakeholder sign-offs.
Act as the liaison between business and technology teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Guide stakeholders toward out-of-the-box ServiceNow capabilities and best practices while balancing business needs with platform governance.
Build strong relationships across business and technology teams and promote adoption of the ServiceNow platform.
ServiceNow Development & Configuration
Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules.
Develop Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Flow Designer workflows, Integration Hub flows, and catalog items.
Configure forms, workflows, approvals, notifications, SLAs, portals, and automation.
Develop integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and ServiceNow Integration Hub.
Troubleshoot platform issues and implement scalable, maintainable solutions following ServiceNow best practices.
Support platform upgrades, testing, and release activities.
Delivery & Platform Governance
Support solution design, development, QA, regression testing, UAT, and production implementation.
Work closely with developers, QA analysts, Product Owners, and platform administrators throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, governance standards, security requirements, and platform best practices.
Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and platform optimization.
Contribute to documentation, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
What You Bring to the Table
Must-Have
5+ years of experience with ServiceNow, including hands-on development and configuration.
Experience working as a ServiceNow Developer, Business Systems Analyst, Technical Systems Analyst, or Solution Consultant.
Strong Business Analysis skills, including requirements gathering, user stories, process flows, and translating business needs into ServiceNow solutions.
Hands-on ServiceNow development experience with JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and REST/SOAP integrations.
Experience with ServiceNow Asset Management, Security, and Risk modules, such as Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Security Incident Response (SIR), Vulnerability Response (VR), Integrated Risk Management (IRM), and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM).
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Nice-to-have
Experience with additional ServiceNow modules such as IT Asset Management (ITAM), CMDB/CSDM, ITOM, Integrated Risk Management (IRM/GRC), Vulnerability Response, Customer Service Management (CSM), Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), HRSD, or Service Catalog.
ServiceNow certifications such as CSA or CAD.
Experience with ServiceNow AI, Now Assist, Virtual Agent, or AI Search.
Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, SailPoint, Microsoft Teams, Dynamics AX, or Power BI.
Familiarity with Jira/Atlassian and Agile/Scrum environments.
