You will partner with product managers and engineers to solve user problems and craft visually striking interface designs for mobile applications. Additionally, you will conduct user research, maintain design systems, and deliver polished, engineering-ready UI assets.
This is a remote position.
Perry Street Software just bought Growlr, and is hiring a Senior UI/UX Designer for the Scruff, Jack’d and Growlr app team. You’ll help shape new user experiences while crafting visually striking interface designs for our global community of Gay, Bi, Trans and Queer members.
Day-to-day, you’ll partner with product managers and engineers to solve user problems with design, test concepts, contribute to and advance our design systems and new features, and deliver polished, engineering-ready UI.
Design — craft clear, strategic, and visually exceptional interfaces and in-app creative that elevate the brand.
Research — plan lightweight user tests, gather insights, and apply findings to ongoing projects.
Align Across Teams — host design reviews and workshops to align stakeholders and generate ideas. You know how to run a good meeting!
Humility — continually improve and be open to honest critical design feedback, both internally and externally.
Negotiate — collaborate with engineers to balance design quality with technical feasibility.
Independence – PSS is a remote, global, distributed company. Teammates that excel here are naturally independent and able to work collaboratively over Google Meet but also deliver consistently without a high degree of oversight
5+ years in product design, UI/UX, or visual design, including 2–3 years in consumer-facing native mobile apps.
Demonstrable portfolio of work that highlights past projects where you collaborated with Product Management to: design user flows, test concepts, refine UI/UX, and deliver a polished design work product for software or mobile apps. (If we can install an app you built or helped design, please highlight that in your cover letter)
Proficient in Figma, including component libraries and motion prototypes.
Demonstrated ability to define a visual style and guide other designers or contractors in executing it consistently.
Experience contributing to or evolving a design system across multiple products.
Strong understanding of composition, typography, and storytelling for in-app surfaces and campaigns.
Organized, self-directed, and skilled at driving clarity across product, marketing, and engineering.
Experience with agile teams and iterative delivery.
