Job Description

Join the legal frontline and champion the defense for both the insured and Company. As a Senior Trial Attorney, you'll handle bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, including mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Beyond the courtroom, you'll provide vital counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams. Stay ahead of the game by monitoring new laws and regulations, ensuring our strategies remain sharp.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represents insured individuals and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits.
  • Prepares thoroughly for and conducts trials, hearings, mediations, depositions, and examinations under oath. 
  • Prepares witnesses (lay and expert) and clients for depositions,  mediations, and trials.
  • Conducts court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.)
  • Assists colleagues in resolving calendar conflicts in a collaborative manner. 
  • Keep claim business partners updated on case status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.)
  • Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questions
  • Review new file assignments including all documentary evidence, and draft initial pleadings, propound discovery, and develop strategy
  • Try and/or arbitrate cases, including preparing motions in limine, jury instructions, trial briefs, and summary documents.
  • Draft post-trial motions as needed.

Education

  • 4 year Bachelors Degree (Required)
  • Juris Doctor (Required)

Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 90,700.00 - 153,925.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
