The Senior System Administrator for Stellus Rx will be a key member of our Technology Team, working closely with leaders and across the organization to unlock the health of millions of Americans. This role is built for a systems professional who doesn't just maintain infrastructure — they actively use AI tools to automate, monitor, troubleshoot, and document faster and smarter than traditional manual approaches allow.


Role and Responsibilities:

AI-Augmented Operations & Automation

  • Use AI-assisted tools and code generation (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) to write, review, and optimize shell scripts and automation routines — replacing repetitive manual scripting effort.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate system audits, generate configuration documentation, and surface anomalies in system performance data.
  • Apply AI-powered monitoring and alerting tools to proactively detect issues before they impact availability or performance.
  • Perform system audits and maintain configuration files, using automation to reduce manual overhead and improve consistency.


System Administration & Infrastructure Management

  • Ensure uptime, performance, security, and resource efficiency of servers and multi-user computer systems within budget constraints.
  • Install, configure, and maintain system updates, patches, and upgrades in accordance with change management policies.
  • Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimal performance levels; maintain full infrastructure configuration including documentation.
  • Configure and manage data storage solutions (SAN/NAS), backup/recovery systems, and disaster recovery methodologies.
  • Evaluate, install, and resolve issues related to patches, system applications, and data storage impacting availability and performance.


AI-Assisted Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  • Use AI tools to rapidly diagnose system and application issues — reducing mean time to resolution by replacing manual log review and root cause analysis with AI-accelerated investigation.
  • Resolve issues reported by support teams related to applications and data storage; document resolutions in a structured, reusable knowledge base.
  • Apply problem-solver thinking to complex infrastructure challenges, leveraging AI to generate and evaluate solution alternatives quickly.


Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain system security policies and establish auditing procedures to ensure a secure computing and storage networking environment.
  • Use AI-enhanced security tooling to continuously monitor for vulnerabilities, anomalous behavior, and policy drift.
  • Suggest and assist in the implementation of practical data storage policies and procedures aligned with organizational standards.


Collaboration & Communication

  • Provide clear verbal and written communication to development and infrastructure teams; contribute to project delivery and technical support efforts.
  • Support team members through knowledge sharing, training, and technical guidance on system administration best practices.
  • Work within an agile software development environment, understanding and contributing to requirement management processes.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with AI-powered monitoring, observability, or AIOps platforms.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar) enhanced by AI-assisted authoring.
  • Experience with AI prompt engineering in an operations or DevOps context.
  • Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell, with experience using AI code generation to accelerate development.
