About the Role

This role serves as the ultimate technical anchor for our client's database infrastructure within the high-demand automotive sector. We are looking for an expert-level SQL Specialist who goes far beyond standard administrative tasks, anchoring the health, security, and scalability of massive Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise databases. You will be the primary guardian of database integrity, ensuring sub-second performance and high availability at scale.

This role is critical to the modernization and stability of our client's core operations. You will own the optimization of a massive library of complex legacy stored procedures, directly impacting system reliability and business continuity. Your deep-dive troubleshooting under pressure will prevent downtime, empower engineering teams, and directly influence the company’s ability to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize complex legacy SQL stored procedures, execution plans, indexes, and resource usage to resolve performance bottlenecks and ensure high availability.

• Diagnose and debug deep-seated database logic flaws, acting as the master troubleshooter for mission-critical system errors.

• Lead the core administration, security, and maintenance of SQL Server 2019 environments, including proactive monitoring, patching, replication, and upgrades.

• Build and manage robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure zero data loss.

• Collaborate directly with development teams to review database code, enforce architecture best practices, and proactively prevent performance degradation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA or Database Specialist.

• Expert-Level SQL Mastery: Proven expertise in dissecting, troubleshooting, and rewriting highly complex SQL stored procedures.

• Tech Stack: Deep technical command of SQL Server Enterprise Edition (2019 V.15.0.440.1).

• Advanced English: Fluent written and spoken English proficiency, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to stakeholders.

• Ownership Mindset: Strong autonomy, proactive problem-solving skills, and the resilience to handle high-pressure scenarios with minimal guidance.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in the Automotive industry or data-heavy logistics sectors.

• Exposure to cloud database migrations (e.g., AWS RDS SQL Server or Azure SQL Managed Instance).

• Experience with third-party monitoring and tuning tools (e.g., Redgate, SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer).

• Familiarity with database automation and scripting via PowerShell.
